According to the law, a person caught with a misdemeanor shall be punished by either a fine of  $500 or be in custody for 60 days in jail. For a person charged with use, possession, and sale of kratom, a court appearance is a must because the court will impose a sentence. Instead of probation or jail time, a person will have mandatory counseling.
